Description

The BA Law and Business provides extensive knowledge on the way law functions within the business environment. The course helps the learners to understand the core aspects of law and business such as the English Legal system, management, criminal law, contract law, equity, tort law, land law or EU law, and optionally, employment law, family law, company law, marketing strategy, corporate finance, jurisprudence, intellectual property, human rights or ethics.

Career pathway

After completing this BA Law and Business, the candidates can develop a career as solicitors, with additional qualifications, but also legal executive, HR director or civil service administrator. Additionally, there are many opportunities within the legal system, including business-related, civil service, social service and the charitable sector, or criminal justice. A popular title for graduates seeking employment is compliance officer.

Work industries

This degree offers the possibility for graduates to build a career within the legal system, with some additional qualifications, but also in welfare, health, administration, HR, finance, retail or customer services. Typical employers are solicitors’ practices or large organisations, for solicitors. However, the Government is providing the most opportunities in this field.

Skills achieved

In addressing skills, critical thinking and analytical skills, along with decision-making and argument formulation, are being developed through this course. Along with these, attention to detail, communication, evaluation and reasoning skills play a vital role in law courses.
